1917 is a movie about two lance Corporals, Blake and Schofield, who are selected to run a dispatch to call off an attack on the germans. One of their brothers are in the assult, and the assult is a mistake. It will be a massacre. There is no way but them to get the message to those in charge of the assult. They are the only link.
They set off across no man's land, and into the German front lines, which they find abandoned. They treck through barbed-wire and tunnels, encountering trip wires and snipers, until Blake is killed by a German pilot they rescued from a plane wreck. Schofield continues through occupied territory and jumps in a rivver until he washes ashore near where he was supposed to stop the attack. He searches the trenches for the command post until he finds it by running accross no mans land and calls off the attack.
I saw 1917, and it was a truely great movie. Some critics said it was the greatest movie of the year. They were wrong. It was definately the greatest movie in quite a few years. I loved the acting, the intense drama, and the realistic set. The story was a truely great one as well.
